Check out the remnants of Vietnam's ancient capital city with Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, and Mua cave day tour. Located in Ninh Binh province and about 100 km far from Hanoi, Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, and Mua Cave are three of the most famous destinations in all of the north of Vietnam. These places are the cultural and historical spots mingled with picturesque landscapes. Paying a visit to Hoa Lu capital, visitors will get a chance to admire the mausoleum, temples worshiping the King of Vietnam and let your mind wander among the natural scenery in Tam Coc and Mua cave from the peak above. Join this day tour, visitors will release their souls into a wonderful combination of natural beauty and rural countryside. Let's visit Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, and Mua Cave to regain peace in the ancient city and explore the beauty of the wilderness.
7h30-8h00: From the beginning of this tour, visitors will be collected at your hotel or meeting point in the Old Quarter and then start driving to Ninh Binh province, 100km south of Hanoi, has earned its nickname “Ha Long Bay on land” featuring in the Kong movie thanks to its ancient temples, majestic caves, verdant rice paddies, and striking limestone outcrops.
9h30-9h45: The first destination is Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam for 41 years, from 968 to 1009 CE. In Chinese wars, Ding king and Le king stayed there because Hoa Lu was considered a safer area with the limestone mountains permitting good surveillance and barriers against invaders as well.
Therefore, the temples of Ding King and Le king are must-visit destinations in order to get to know about the heroic histories of these two Kings. Hoa Lu is definitely a must-visit for history buffs with a penchant for beholding ancient ruins.
10h30: Next, you visit Mua Cave( Dancing cave), one of the must-see attractions that you should call on when doing trips to Ninh Binh. This cave was named “dancing cave” because this place was formerly the place where Tran king used to come to enjoy dancing and singing shows performed in this cave.
Furthermore, following the model of “Miniature Great Wall” in China, Mua cave is constructed with about 500 steps up to mountains to conquer. Although it's a hard trek up to the peak because of uneven limestone steps, it's worth a try when you reach the top point of Ngoa Long mountain and feast your eyes on the stunning panoramic view of Tam Coc, Trang An, and Ninh Binh city.
12h00: When it comes to lunchtime, you enjoy the Vietnamese cuisine served under a set menu at the bungalow. Besides, you also participate in the cooking class held here.
13h00: Thereafter, you spend time visiting Tam Coc (Three water caves) on the sampan boats in almost 2 hours. Tam Coc is famous for its endlessly stretching limestone mountains and hidden caves, so it's often referred to as “Halong among the rice paddies”. You are taken by rowboat along the peaceful Tam Coc stream and green fields where you see exotic aquatic species or the flocks of white flamingo on the lawns in the lagoon.
When passing through the Ngo Dong river, you will separately set foot in 3 caves named Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba, where you see plentiful charming stalactites hanging down with their diversified shapes and shimmer like gemstones. The most interesting cave is the Third cave (Hang Ba), which is about 50m long and looks like a plutonic cupola. You will spend about 2-3 hours visiting completely these caves and enjoying the relaxing and poetic scenery. In short, with any Ninh Binh tours, Tam Coc is always an indispensable rendezvous.
15h00: Later, you ride a bicycle to contemplate the beauty of the countryside in the North of Vietnam.
16h00: After stretching your legs with a series of activities like walking, hiking, cycling, you can immerse yourself in the cool water when swimming.
16h45: You get on the car and return to Hanoi.
18h45-19:00: Complete a memorable trip at your hotel in Hanoi. End the tour.
